Summer Vacation
1 Every year, we go to Myrtle Beach. It is the best place on earth. We stay for a whole week. It is always so much fun.
2 Myrtle Beach is very popular. It was ranked the fifth-best beach in the country in 2007. The Atlantic Ocean is a dazzling blue. The waves can get rough. The sound of the waves helps me sleep at night.
3 My family has been going to the beach since I was born. When I was a baby, I would crawl on the beach. The waves would come in and get me all wet. Once, I got swept away by a big wave, even though my mom was right behind me. I was not even scared, but my mom sure was. "Sammy! You come back here," she cried out. She saved me.
4 I like to build sandcastles right on the edge of the sea. People come from all over to enjoy the long beaches and the ocean. There is a wide range of activities like golf, shopping, and dining. I like the amusement park because it has four fast roller coasters.
5 On the beach, I like to collect seashells. Conch shells are the best. They are big and have an interesting shape. Digging in the sand is another fun activity. My brother Kenny and I bury each other in the sand. We also race each other to see who can dig the deepest hole. I love the feeling of the wind in my hair and the sun on my back.
